We are proud to share that several sf.citi members have been recognized in TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2024. Our members, including Pinterest, Airbnb, Waymo, Google, OpenAI, and Microsoft, have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and inclusivity, creating and fostering a better, more connected world. These member companies have extended their positive reach globally by introducing new technologies such as autonomous driving, reshaping hospitality, and leading in AI advancements through strategic and meaningful partnerships and initiatives. These achievements highlight the transformative power of technology in San Francisco and our members’ significant contributions in driving socioeconomic progress worldwide.

MICROSOFT AND GOOGLE SUPPORT COMMUNITY AND NONPROFIT INITIATIVES
sf.citi members Microsoft and Google have unveiled plans empowering local organizations that are working to address homelessness. Microsoft is offering nonprofits an opportunity to learn and apply advanced cloud and AI solutions through Azure services, including an annual $2,000 Azure grant that provides access to products and services, cyber protection, staff training, operations via the Azure Migration Center, and personalized support from the Nonprofit Azure Onboarding Concierge. Our friends at Google have pledged $4.5 million to the “It All Adds Up” pilot program, part of a $1 billion effort to boost the Bay Area’s housing supply and social services. This initiative provides 450 recently homeless families with guaranteed basic income in collaboration with local nonprofits and academic support from J-PAL North America and NYU.
A MILESTONE IN SAN FRANCISCO BUSINESS TAX REFORM
San Francisco’s business tax reform journey, introduced by Mayor London Breed and Board President Aaron Peskin, has reached a milestone with the final Business Tax Reform Proposal. Guided by Chief Economist Ted Egan, Treasurer José Cisneros, and former City Controller Ben Rosenfield, this measure, which would take effect on January 1, 2025, reflects extensive consultations and collaboration among a myriad of stakeholders, labor, business leaders, and sf.citi members. Our members played a crucial role in shaping this proposal, which simplifies the tax code, raises the small business exemption ceiling, and introduces targeted tax credits. This reform creates a fairer, more reliable economic environment, and we invite all San Franciscans to support this significant achievement for our city’s financial future.
