The City’s Office of the City Administrator and Department of Technology will release an RFQ this spring to create a two-year pilot pool of firms offering AI and other emerging technology solutions, aiming to modernize procurement and enable smarter testing and adoption of new tools. This initiative reflects the City’s commitment to improving public services while carefully evaluating risks such as bias, inaccuracy, privacy, security, and public trust. Qualified firms will be able to apply through the SF City Partner Portal and, once accepted, may compete for initial short-term, lower-cost pilot projects; successful solutions could then lead to longer-term contracts and broader implementation. Interested vendors are encouraged to express interest ahead of the RFQ’s release.
