Exploring the changing face of social impact work
sf.citi hosted several conversations with tech and nonprofit leaders series to better understand changes to social impact during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. We discussed how tech companies can make racial equity a foundational part of their social impact work, explored what the future of social impact may look like in an increasingly remote world, and looked at how tech companies can combine civic engagement, social impact, and politics—and the benefits of doing so.

Mapping the Tech Exodus dives into tech trends across the country and analyzes how they compare to what we’re seeing in San Francisco. Each discussion features a new tech policy leader to weigh in on the ongoing migration of tech workers and companies outside of the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as approaches other cities are taking to attract tech talent (and tax dollars).

Exploring the effects of COVID-19 on San Francisco’s future
As COVID-19 came to define and shape our everyday lives, sf.citi organized a series of policy discussions with City and state leaders to explore the impact of COVID-19 on the future of San Francisco. We looked at the effect COVID-19 on San Francisco’s budget, office space market, and restaurant culture, as well as the broader challenges COVID-19 posed for the 2020 Presidential election.

Connecting current and future tech workers
For the past few years, sf.citi has organized our tremendously popular speed networking event, Breaking Into Tech. Employees from sf.citi member companies connect and share advice with those looking to work in the tech industry. Usually hosted at one of our member companies, Breaking Into Tech 2020 and 2021 took place entirely online to keep both job seekers and mentors safe during the coronavirus crisis.
