Great Things Happen When We Stand Together
In this important time of need for inclusiveness and compassion, sf.citi couldn’t be more proud to share the success of our One City Standing Together event last week. In partnership with the ACLU of Northern California, sf.citi’s One City Forum convened our member companies to support immigrants in crisis in our community. ACLU experts shared the latest updates on the Trump Administration’s travel ban to a packed house, and a panel of tech industry leaders discussed what immigration restrictions mean for their companies and employees.
We received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback for our speakers and panelists and we would like to express a special thank you to our participants:
- Abdi Soltani, ACLU of Northern California
- Nick Tommarello, Wefunder
- Alejandra Zapatero, Erickson Immigration Group
- Clark Stevens, Airbnb
- John Geschke, Zendesk
- Stephanie King, AdRoll, Inc.
- Julia Harumi Mass, ACLU of Northern California
- Photographer Helena Price, who shared her new project Banned
A special thank you to our gracious hosts at LinkedIn for sharing their space. We look forward to seeing you at our next quarterly One City Forum event.
Need an Intern This Summer?
sf.citi and the San Francisco Police Foundation have got you covered! In its 5th year, the Future Grads program places local high school students in paid summer internships with San Francisco tech companies. Interns engage with and learn from members of our tech industry, while host company employees have the rewarding opportunity to mentor future tech workers. The best part is: sf.citi pays the student stipend for our member companies so participation is free. Stay tuned for more information on how your company can host an intern this summer.
Our newest program, Lunch & Learn with sf.citi, creates opportunities for our member companies to meet their elected officials and community leaders.
Last month, new District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safai kicked off our very first Lunch & Learn event series, hosted by Google. Representatives from our member companies sat down for lunch with Supervisor Safai and participated in an informal discussion about the issues that matter to their companies. Our next Lunch & Learn will be held in April with new District 9 Supervisor, Hillary Ronen.
