CANDIDATES FOR CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 17 COMPARED
When David Chiu became the next San Francisco City Attorney, his departure from the State Assembly created the first open contest (no incumbent) to represent San Francisco in the state legislature since 2016. This rare opportunity to influence policy- and decision-making at the state level led to a competitive race that now features the top two candidates, District 6 Supervisor Matt Haney and former Supervisor David Campos. Before you cast your vote in this crucial April 19 election, learn more about the candidates and where they stand on the issues most important to you by reviewing sf.citi’s April 2022 Assembly Candidate Questionnaire.
SUPERVISOR AHSHA SAFAI DISCUSSES THE CITY’S PATH TOWARDS RECOVERY

sf.citi continued our 2022 Lunch and Learn discussion series with District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safai. We were joined by sf.citi members Airbnb, Alaska Airlines, Comcast, Cruise, Facebook, Instacart, Microsoft, Salesforce Twitter, Waymo, Zoox, and more.
In our conversation, Supervisor Safai focused on the current state of San Francisco and how the City lags far behind other large U.S. cities when it comes to economic recovery and office activity. To confront San Francisco’s slow recovery process, the Supervisor outlined how the City must do better on homelessness, crime, and the state of the streets as they all feed into economic recovery and attract workers and tourists back to the City. Addressing these issues is essential for the City if it ever hopes to accelerate its recovery and reach its pre-pandemic economic output.
