SAN FRANCISCO GEARS UP FOR 2024 ELECTION SEASON
With a year and a half left until the November 2024 election, the race for San Francisco’s mayoral position is already heating up, with 20 candidates already having declared their intent to run. Notable contenders include incumbent Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Ahsha Safaí, who recently filed the necessary paperwork to challenge Breed, despite their previous political alignment. These candidates will shoulder the daunting task of addressing residents’ top concerns, such as homelessness, housing affordability, public safety, and street cleanliness while navigating the emergence of numerous tech-friendly progressive organizations seeking to hold city leaders accountable and contribute to post-pandemic revitalization. As San Francisco’s largest technology trade association, sf.citi is committed to remaining informed and engaged with the priorities and platforms of current and future city leaders throughout the electoral process. We eagerly anticipate amplifying the voice of our industry along the way.
