THE LATEST IN TECH FOR GOOD
Google pledged $20 million in new commitments to expand computer science education among underrepresented communities in the field.
Uber added new options to its safety toolkit, including expanding its 911 text feature and partnering with security company ADT to let riders contact an ADT agent during trips.
Airbnb announced that it has housed 100,000 people fleeing Ukraine in locations throughout the world.Â
Google launched the Open Source Software Vulnerability Rewards Program, a new program designed to reward researchers that find bugs in its open source projects.Â
Spotlight Impact StoryÂ
As part of its efforts to bridge the digital divide in California, AT&T has contributed nearly $550,000 in 2022 to California nonprofits working to close the digital divide and make an impact in the lives of Californians. Throughout California, AT&T also opened four new Connected Learning Centers, bolstered fiber infrastructure to expand access to speedy and reliable internet, and worked with government, community, and tribal leaders to provide their communities with digital resources and reliable internet.

The platform is a free database of enrichment opportunities in San Francisco. Students can explore their passions and interests, nonprofits can recruit and advertise opportunities, and school staff can refer students to find enrichment programs.
