I hope you are keeping well during this difficult time.
I am writing to you with a brief update re: ongoing GRT discussions. The Office of the Controller released a new outline on business tax proposals for the November 2020 election this week. Attached you will find the deck.
The Office of the Controller presented these proposals to Mayor Breed and some members of the Board of Supervisors last week. We are still gathering details, but have learned that one of these proposals may be proposed by President Yee at an upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting, including today’s meeting.
We will continue to monitor this situation and provide you with updates. In the meantime, please review the proposed GRT measures below and send over any feedback your team can provide. We will be hosting an upcoming members call to discuss this process, as well as other pertinent updates including the Back to Work ordinance.
