Board of Supervisors Update

Good morning sf.citi members,

Hope you’re doing well. I am writing to you today with an important update regarding the San Francisco Board of Supervisors’ newly elected President and their updated committee assignments. As a brief reminder, District 1 Supervisor Connie Chan and District 7 Supervisor Myrna Melgar were inaugurated on Friday, January 8th. As always, please let us know if you have any questions regarding the new composition of the Board and/or committee assignments.

President Shamann Walton

At last week’s Board of Supervisors inaugural meeting, 11 members of the body unanimously nominated and elected their new president, District 10 Supervisor Shamann Walton. All legislators expressed their faith in his ability to lead San Francisco through these tumultuous times, citing his integrity, level-headedness, and unwavering commitment to the most vulnerable populations of the city and county. President Walton will serve out the remaining two years of his term as Board president and is the first Black man to hold this office. As a brief reminder, we will meet with President Walton in May for our regularly scheduled Lunch and Learn series.
