Good evening sf.citi members,
I hope you and your family are keeping well. The sf.citi and Ground Floor teams have been working to coordinate with the City of San Francisco on identifying the highest priorities needs for the COVID-19 response efforts. Please see the two options below for immediate needs:
Give2SF COVID-19 Response Monetary Request
Monetary donations can be made online at give2sf.org. They are hoping to see increased donations via this portal in terms of both total amount received and in terms of total number of donors. Accordingly, they would love for you to share this link on your social media channels and to your employees. I have drafted a suggested share/tweet for you:
- “Help the City of SF combat the COVID-19 pandemic by donating to the Give2SF Fund. Your tax-deductible donation goes towards outbreak response efforts, including providing shelter, food and other assistance to individuals, families, small businesses, and nonprofits in SF.”
Attached below, you will find an overview of the Give2SF COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund, including FAQs and ethics commission rules.
Important to note: elected official and commissioner behest rules apply to the Give2SF fund (see attached from Ethics Commission). There are no restrictions on sources of donations, but the fund will disclose all donor names and amounts.
Further questions about donating funds can be directed to give2SF@sfgov.org.
Give2SF COVID-19 Bulk Donation Request
The City of San Francisco has an immediate need for the following donated items:
- Masks – N-95
- Masks – Isolation
- Masks – Surgical
- Gowns
- Hand Sanitizer Non Refill Sizes
- Disinfectant Wipes Cannisters
- Face Shields
- Shoe Covers
- Goggles
- Tyvek Suite (type of coverall) – White
Due to current capacity constraints, they are only able to accept bulk donations of the goods listed below in sealed packaging. A bulk donation is defined as a minimum of one shipping pallet.
If your item is not on the above list or is less than the minimum quantity they can accept, please consider reaching out to a local nonprofit organization or other organization who might be able to accept your donation.
Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and are being facilitated by community members and the Office of Supervisor Haney. Please contact 415-879-9129 or email courtney.mcdonald@sfgov.org and a team member will match your donation to a service provider in need. The team member will coordinate pick-up/drop-off directly to the service provider or to a central storage location.
Further questions about donating goods can be sent to give2sf.inkind@sfgov.org.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Be well.
Jen
