Yesterday, sf.citi member companies and a number of prominent employers in San Francisco were asked to join a meeting between Mayor Breed’s Chief of Staff, Sean Elsbernd, and Senior Policy Advisor, Andres Power. Today, Mayor Breed introduced “Prop C Waiver Legislation”, an ordinance that amends the Business Tax and Regulations Code to add a 10% credit against businesses’ Homelessness GRT liability for a given tax year, with respect to which said business agrees to enter into a voluntary agreement that waives the right to a refund should Prop. C not prevail due to court rulings.
We have attached the legislation below for your review. Both Sean Elsbernd and Andres Power have asked for our input and thoughts on the legislation and we will be holding a call on Thursday, January 31st from 11:30am – 11:50am to discuss the topic.
