I hope you are well this evening.
I’m writing to you today to provide you with an update on what transpired at today’s Board of Supervisors meeting. Supervisor Mar’s “Temporary Right to Reemployment Following Layoff Due to COVID-19 Pandemic” Emergency Ordinance was heard and finally passed, with Supervisor Stefani in the dissent. As such, once signed by the Mayor, this emergency legislation will be in effect for the following 60 days. I’ve attached the most recent version of the legislation below.
On a similar note, although we anticipated a permanent version of the Right to Reemployment legislation during the Supervisors’ introductions, Supervisor Mar did not make the introduction. That being said, we will continue to monitor all meetings as the Supervisor previously expressed his intent to introduce the permanent version once the rest of the Board of Supervisors had an opportunity to review the emergency version of the legislation. As always, we will send more information as we hear more.
