WHAT WE’RE UP TO
With San Francisco’s reopening in sight, we surveyed the sf.citi community to get a sense of where employers stood on return to work policies. Our survey results reaffirmed the common perception that the office we knew from before the pandemic will never be the same and remote work, whether permanently or a few days a week, will become a staple of businesses everywhere. VACCINE REPORT
- 58.9 percent of Californians who are vaccinated with at least one dose
- 44.9 percent of Californians who are fully vaccinated
- 79 percent of San Franciscans who are vaccinated with at least one dose
THE LATEST IN TECH FOR GOOD
Microsoft expanded its Airband Initiative to eight new U.S. cities as a part of its mission to help racial and ethnic minorities close the broadband gap
Salesforce teamed up with Sean Combs (aka P. Diddy) to launch Shop Circulate, a digital marketplace for products created and sold by Black-owned businesses.
LinkedIn will start paying their Global Employee Resource Group (ERG) co-chairs $10,000 at the end of each year of service.
Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce joined environmental groups and the U.N. to form Business Alliance to Scale Climate Solutions (BASCS), a collective to devise ways to scale funding for climate solutions.
Spotlight Impact Story 
Comcast announced a partnership with HGTV to rebuild spaces and amplify the community spirit in its Lift Zones in three cities—Atlanta, Baltimore, and Portland. This partnership builds off of Comcast’s announcement last year to launch more than 1,000 WiFi-connected “Lift Zone” in community centers nationwide over the next few years.

Mayor Breed unveiled her two-year budget proposal ($13.1 billion for FY 2021-22 and $12.8 billion for FY 2022-23), setting City priorities in supporting a sustained and equitable economic recovery and addressing critical issues that include homelessness, public safety, behavioral health, and youth and family support.

Governor Newsom announced action to ensure that restaurants and bars continue to benefit from pandemic regulatory relief to support the recovery of businesses as the state fully reopens.
SUPPORT OUR SAN FRANCISCO COMMUNITY
826 Valencia is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that supports under-resourced students with their creative and expository writing skills and helps teachers inspire their students to write. After a unique year of adapting to the challenges of remote learning, 826 Valencia will offer (safely, and with much thought and planning) a combination of in-person and online programs for students and families this summer. Get involved with 826 Valencia’s mission to empower students through writing by donating to their work and learning more about their upcoming programming.
