ANTHROPIC MAKES MAJOR DOWNTOWN COMMITMENT
sf.citi member Anthropic is further expanding its presence in downtown San Francisco, recently securing a long-term lease to occupy the full office building at 300 Howard Street. The commitment represents one of the largest single-tenant office leases signed in the city since the pandemic and reinforces San Francisco’s continued role as a global center for artificial intelligence. VERIZON ACTIVATES SUPER BOWL LX WEEK IN SAN FRANCISCO
sf.citi member Verizon is playing a visible role in Super Bowl LX Week as San Francisco prepares to host one of the world’s largest sporting events. In addition to supporting and hosting programming during the week, Verizon will help bring the 2026 Pro Bowl Games to downtown San Francisco for the first time, with the nationally televised event taking place at the Moscone Center. The event will draw fans, players, and media into the city’s core, contributing to increased foot traffic and economic activity during a pivotal moment for downtown. As San Francisco continues to leverage large-scale events to drive recovery and global visibility, Verizon’s involvement reflects how major companies can support the city as both host and global stage.

WAYMO BRINGS AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE SERVICE TO SFO
sf.citi member Waymo has officially launched autonomous passenger service to San Francisco International Airport, allowing riders to travel via robotaxi to the SFO rental car center. Mayor Daniel Lurie hailed the milestone as a key driver for the city’s economic recovery, noting that the service offers a “safe, reliable, and convenient” new way for global visitors to experience San Francisco innovation. This expansion comes just days before the Super Bowl, showcasing the city’s cutting-edge tech landscape as the company’s driverless fleet now covers over 260 square miles across the Bay Area.

CITY HALL HIGHLIGHTS
Following a December power outage that left large portions of the city without electricity for days, the Board of Supervisors is pressing PG&E for accountability and stronger mitigation measures, underscoring how utility reliability directly affects remote work, business continuity, and employee productivity. At the same time, city leaders and officials are beginning work on a permitting framework for hydrogen-fueling station equipment, an early signal of how the City plans to accommodate emerging clean-energy and mobility technologies relevant to the region’s innovation economy.
