A CONVERSATION WITH KATIE PORTER
sf.citi was honored to host former Congresswoman Katie Porter in San Francisco this month for an illuminating conversation on California’s most pressing tech and policy issues. Our board and a select group of members were invited to introduce their work and get the chance to gain valuable insight into how lawmakers might engage with areas like artificial intelligence, antitrust regulations, and strategies to retain and grow tech businesses in the state. The event underscored the importance of open dialogue between policymakers and the industry, offering a platform for both sides to share concerns and potential solutions. We’re proud to see sf.citi members leading the charge in shaping responsible innovation and progress.
LYFT GOES DRIVERLESS
sf.citi is pleased to announce that our member Lyft is officially venturing into the autonomous vehicle sector, joining the ranks of fellow AV pioneers and sf.citi members, Waymo and Zoox. Beginning next year, Lyft will deploy a fleet of cars equipped with Mobileye Drive Technology in the South, including Georgia and Texas. We commend their innovative step, which promises to advance transportation accessibility and convenience for riders. As Lyft pushes the boundaries of modern travel, we look forward to welcoming their autonomous vehicles to the streets of San Francisco in the near future.
NBA ALL-STAR TECH SUMMIT
Amid the city’s vibrant Lunar New Year celebrations and the excitement of the NBA All-Star Game, San Francisco hosted a highly exclusive gathering that drew industry leaders, athletes and coaches, and even AI robots for the 25th NBA All-Star Technology Summit. Across a series of thought-provoking sessions, attendees explored topics ranging from cryptocurrency and sports betting to the latest AI breakthroughs, with key insights offered by sf.citi member company leaders at Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. Notably, this was the first time since 2000 that San Francisco served as the summit’s host city, reaffirming our city’s reputation as a global hub for cutting-edge technology and innovation.
