BAY AREA SPORTS: INNOVATION, COLLABORATION, AND COMMUNITY IMPACT
We’re excited to announce our next Public Policy Briefing, “Bay Area Sports: Innovation, Collaboration, and Community Impact,” which will take place on Tuesday, April 15th, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Verizon Innovation Lab, 360 Spear Street, San Francisco, CA 94105.
This timely discussion will bring together leaders from the Bay Area’s sports, civic, and tourism sectors to explore how we can maximize the opportunities presented by high-profile events such as the Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup, NBA All-Star Weekend, and Olympic qualifying matches. Our panelists include Jen Millet, COO of Bay FC, Cassandra Costello, EVP of SF Travel, Ruth Shakida, VP of Government & External Affairs for the Bay Area Host Committee, and moderated by San Francisco Supervisor Stephen Sherrill. These experts will offer insights into their roles in positioning the Bay Area as a global sports destination—highlighting how innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and community engagement can ensure these major events leave a lasting, positive impact.
Following the panel discussion, the Verizon team will host a tour of their Innovation Lab from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., offering a behind-the-scenes look at cutting-edge demos, emerging tech in action and how 5G and Mobile Edge Compute are shaping the future of the telecom industry. If your schedule permits, we highly encourage you to stay and check out the space.
If you’re an sf.citi member interested in attending, RSVP by Friday, April 11th to hayden@sfciti.org to confirm your attendance. We hope to see you there!
