Like Minded
This summer, Bryan Zin interned with Lynn Luckow at LikeMinded. LikeMinded offers nonprofit, civic, and public leaders a place to showcase their organizations and connect with donors in their communities. Bryan’s role on the team revolves around promoting the organizations that the website features and spearheading the outreach and recruitment of new projects. After Bryan expressed interest in improving his leadership skills, they decided to set up meetings dedicated solely to the development of this skillset. Bryan says that it is truly invaluable to get this insight from Lynn, as he has been the CEO of numerous companies. As Bryan heads off to college in the Fall, he says he is excited to apply what he has learned at LikeMinded to future endeavors and thinks that the Future Grads program has been a truly formative experience.
Meals on Wheels
Shea Tuli’s supervisor refers to her as a superstar intern. Shea was a marketing intern for Meals on Wheels team and she chose to concentrate in this field largely out of curiosity. She came in not knowing much about marketing, but Shea says that working at Meals on Wheels has opened her eyes to a whole new career path and has definitely helped shape her future goals. As such, she says that her biggest piece of advice for future interns is to take chances – the best way to get the most out of an internship is by diving into fields that you don’t know much about. Shea also joins the team in dropping off meals to the elderly community and these interactions have quickly become one of her favorite parts of the job. She says that she truly enjoys the way in which this allows her to feel connected to the community and that she treasures some of the great conversations that she has had with members.
End of Summer Celebration
Our End of the Year Event was a huge success. Thank you all for taking the time to come and support this class of Future Grads. To all students that participated this year – we are so proud of the work that you have accomplished over the summer and cannot wait to see what you all do next. We hope that you will take the skills that you have learned in your internship and apply them to your own personal future goals. Know that you have an entire community behind you, cheering you on every step of the way!
And finally, this summer would not have been possible without our partner companies, nonprofits, the San Francisco Police Department, and the San Francisco Police Foundation. Thank you for everything that you do; your commitment to changing our community for the better is truly admirable.
The sf.citi team cannot wait to kick off next year’s Future Grad’s program!
Become a Circle the Schools Partner
Although Future Grads has come to an end, sf.citi’s efforts do not end here. We are currently recruiting for our Circle the Schools program. Circle the Schools pairs local companies with public schools to ensure students have the skills and resources they need to live, work, and thrive in today’s competitive market.
