Friends,
As 2024 comes to a close, we at sf.citi are proud to reflect on a year filled with impactful advocacy, meaningful connections, and forward-thinking innovation. This past year reminded us of the resilience and strength that define San Francisco—a city renowned for its transformative spirit, unwavering commitment to progress, and ability to overcome even the most complex challenges
This holiday season, we were delighted to host our holiday soiree in San Francisco’s Japantown, where dozens of sf.citi members gathered to connect, celebrate, and hear from our special guest, Mayor London Breed. The Mayor passionately reflected on San Francisco’s achievements and the road ahead, reaffirming her vision for the city’s future. It was a reminder of the collective dedication and leadership of our members, who continue to shape the narrative of innovation, progress, and community engagement.

Throughout the year, sf.citi brought thought leaders, industry experts, and community partners together to discuss San Francisco’s most pressing issues. Our public policy briefings exemplified this commitment, including “SF and Tech Through the Media Lens,” hosted with Instacart, which explored tech’s evolving role in revitalizing downtown, and “The Bloom Loop – San Francisco’s Grassroots Revival,” hosted with Airbnb, where community leaders discussed initiatives to reactivate neighborhoods and support small businesses. These events underscored our dedication to fostering collaboration across industries and strengthening the ties between tech, local leaders, and the broader community.
Advocating for tech-friendly policies also remained at the core of sf.citi’s efforts in 2024. We proudly supported AT&T California’s initiative to upgrade its fiber optic network and stood against legislation that hinders innovation in autonomous vehicle technology. Whether protecting independent contractor flexibility through Proposition 22 or positioning San Francisco as the AI Capital of the World, sf.citi championed policies that ensure the city’s status as a global hub for innovation.
sf.citi was proud to be recognized by the San Francisco Business Times in its “Reset: San Francisco” series as a key changemaker driving progress in our city. Among our notable achievements this year was the creation and successful passage of Proposition M, which simplified the tax code and delivered critical support to our member companies and small businesses alike. Furthermore, several of our members—including Airbnb, Google, Microsoft, Waymo, and OpenAI—were honored in TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2024, highlighting their transformative impact on both a local and global scale.
While the results of the national election may not have aligned with the hopes of many, San Francisco has always thrived in the face of challenges. Together, with the leadership of our members and partners, we remain steadfast in building a brighter future for our city. Looking ahead to 2025, sf.citi is eager to continue partnering with San Francisco’s newly elected leaders to tackle key challenges and opportunities. We remain committed to empowering our members to lead on the issues that matter most and creating meaningful impact within the city we all call home.
We wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year. Thank you for your continued support and advocacy—here’s to an even brighter 2025!
From your sf.citi family.
