sf.citi hosts Leaders in Technology, Public Health, and Education
Thanks to all who joined us for sf.citi’s latest One City Forum event, “We are San Francisco,” last week. Sam Altman, President of Y Combinator, opened the event and led a compelling discussion between Ashley McCumber, CEO of Meals on Wheels SF, Gilda Gonzales, CEO of Planned Parenthood Northern CA, and Shamann Walton, President of the SF Board of Education. The panelists discussed the potential effects federal budget cuts would have on our local community and encouraged attendees to “think globally, but act locally” by volunteering their time and talents to important local causes.
Make sure to take a look at our sfciti.org/wearesf page to do just that.
sf.citi members meet with Board of Education President Shamann Walton
sf.citi’s Lunch and Learn series aims to facilitate a discussion between public policy leaders and tech leaders in San Francisco. We recently met with Shamann Walton, President of the San Francisco Board of Education and candidate for District 10 Supervisor. Shamann spoke with representatives from sf.citi member companies Google, Amazon, Facebook, and others, touching on a range of pressing issues from education to automation.

Welcome Noelle!
sf.citi welcomes the newest member of our team, our summer intern Noelle Forougi. Noelle is an undergraduate student studying economics and public policy at UC Berkeley. She is interested in the rapidly developing intersection of public policy and technology and excited to begin working in this field with sf.citi. This summer she looks forward to becoming better versed in pressing policy challenges and getting involved in initiatives that are aimed at closing diversity gaps in the tech world.
