San Francisco Business Community goes to City Hall
sf.citi staff with members from Airbnb, AT&T, Alaska Airlines, and Lyft at the SFBizDay Reception.
At last week’s 2nd Annual Business Comes to City Hall Advocacy Day, sf.citi joined the diverse coalition of San Francisco’s business community and City officials convening to discuss pressing issues such as homelessness, housing affordability, workforce development, transportation, and more. As an event co-convener, sf.citi was proud to organize many of the thought-provoking discussions and see our members represented on panels. Special thanks to sf.citi members and partners LinkedIn, Lyft, Zoox, and JVS Bay Area for participating on the “Traffic and Transportation” and the “Workforce Development in the 21st Century” forums. The day served as a great reminder of the importance of civic engagement and the role of business in shaping the future of San Francisco.
sf.citi Members Talk Policy with Mark Leno
In our third Lunch and Learn of the year, sf.citi invited former state senator and mayoral candidate Mark Leno to speak with our members. Seated around the table at AT&T’s flagship store on Powell, sf.citi members had a chance to ask Senator Leno about his views on homelessness, the housing affordability crisis, the importance of operating a fiscally responsible city, and the role of taxes in San Francisco. In the discussion, Senator Leno stressed his commitment to bring all stakeholders to the table, including business, when solving complex problems. sf.citi’s Lunch and Learn series gives members access to local leaders in an intimate setting. Throughout this eventful election season, we look forward to hosting more discussions with mayoral candidates, elected officials, and other City leaders.

sf.citi Welcomes Kiel Delegation
Along-time Sister City participant, San Francisco has been developing relationships with our 18 partners cities around the world to engage in cultural, education, and informational exchanges. This cross-cultural dialogue continued over the past week when our German Sister City, Kiel, sent a delegation to San Francisco to meet with and learn from their American counterparts in local government, business, and civil society organizations. The Kiel delegation met with many sf.citi member companies, including a meeting with Airbnb on enhancing their presence in Kiel. This type of opportunity shows the value of the Sister City exchanges and the pathway that “citizen to citizen” diplomacy provides for developing new relationships and partnerships abroad.
