What major steps would you take or support to address the digital divide in San Francisco?
Expand STEM training in SFUSD and City College for tech sector job training; expand local hiring to private sector, Create a municipal wifi programDo you support the reallocation of SFPD funds? If so, what city programs/departments would you like to see the funds reallocated to?
Yes. Health and Human Services, SFUSD and City College counselors and support for low income students of color and their families, rental subsidies, small business investment in communities of color. To address the City’s budget deficit, what is more important: generating more revenue or cutting costs? Why?
Generating more revenue. City services are vitally needed as a foundation for our economy as well as social safety net. I believe cost savings can be made by making government efficient and accountable. Decisions about cutting cost must be made with that framework and not to simply cut vital services.Ahsha Safai
