To address the City’s budget deficit, what is more important: generating more revenue or cutting costs? Why?

Generating more revenue. City services are vitally needed as a foundation for our economy as well as social safety net. I believe cost savings can be made by making government efficient and accountable. Decisions about cutting cost must be made with that framework and not to simply cut vital services.

What major steps would you take or support to address the digital divide in San Francisco?

It's time for our city to invest in Public Broadband. At a time when many San Franciscans are sheltering-in-place, I support expanding free, public internet access around the city, as well as providing support and resources to low-income San Franciscans who lack the means to purchase a computer or smartphone themselves.

Do you support the reallocation of SFPD funds? If so, what city programs/departments would you like to see the funds reallocated to?

Yes, I support reallocating SFPD funding to community-based organizations, services, and programs which serve low-income communities, marginalized communities, and specifically the Black community.

To address the City’s budget deficit, what is more important: generating more revenue or cutting costs? Why?

In our major recession, we have to look at ways to reduce our City Budget. In order to combat the large deficits in the City budget, I am committed to continue crafting legislation and supporting initiatives to generate more revenue, as well as auditing all of the City's departments to eliminate any wasteful spending and cut costs.
