sf.citi recently kicked off our 6th annual Future Grads event and our interns have already started their Summer internships. This year, our local high school students paired with companies such as the Disney Museum, Techtonica, AdRoll, and many more. The kickoff event took place at the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco and included a warm welcome from Lt. Troy Dangerfield as well as insight from former Future Grad participants. sf.citi is excited to keep up with their growth as their immerse themselves in such influential industries.
ShopChat
Anthony Lowe and Andres Sanches are both interning at ShopChat, a startup creating an online shopping marketplace. Anthony is a recent high school graduate and will be attending Texas Southern University in the Fall. Andres is a third year participant in Future Grads program, and he is entering his senior year of High School. As interns, they are both focused on data analytics, and work to keep the products that customers can see in the app up to date. Both students agree that this sense of ownership and being able to see the direct impact of their work is one of the most exciting parts of the job. While Anthony is interested in architecture and Andres is interested in law enforcement, they both agree this opportunity has been a great way to learn about different industries and how to work in a collaborative environment. We are excited to see what these two accomplish over the course of the summer and are honored to be a part of their journey!
Hands On Bay Area
Alanna Era is interning with Hands On Bay Area, a nonprofit that creates a myriad of volunteer opportunities to connect people to schools, nonprofits, and tech companies. As supporters of sf.citi’s Future Grads program, Hands On Bay Area is hosting Alanna, a student at Sacred Heart Cathedral, and teaching her all about what it takes to run a volunteer project smoothly. Alanna’s tasks include the organization of volunteer projects, ensuring all incoming and outgoing materials are maintained through a system of quality control, as well as many more. So far, this experience has impacted Alanna’s ideas regarding what she wishes to pursue throughout her professional career, and has gained a deeper appreciation for what volunteerism means to her community.
